Privacy Policy

SchoolWise UAE ("SchoolWise", "we", "us") is an independent school and nursery discovery platform for families in the United Arab Emirates. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our website.

Account data: When you create an account, we collect your email address and optionally your name. We use Supabase (a hosted Postgres/Auth service) to store this data securely.

Review data: When you submit a review, we collect your review content, reviewer context (grade band, tenure), and submission metadata. Reviews are published anonymously — your name and email are never displayed publicly.

Usage data: We collect anonymised analytics (page views, interaction events) via PostHog. No personally identifiable data is included in analytics events. IP addresses are not stored.

School portal data: Schools and nurseries that claim a portal account provide a contact email address and may optionally add profile content (text, photos, links). This data is associated with the school or nursery, not an individual, except where a named team member is recorded for access management purposes.

We use your data to: operate the platform (authentication, review submission, portal access); send transactional notifications (new review alerts to school portals, claim verification codes); and improve the platform through aggregate analytics.

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with schools or nurseries except where you directly submit an enquiry to them.

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication session management (Supabase Auth). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent login from working.

Account data is retained until you delete your account. Reviews are retained indefinitely unless you request deletion or they are removed for guidelines violations. School portal data is retained while the portal account is active. Analytics data is retained for 24 months in aggregate form.

Under applicable data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@schoolwise.ae. We will respond within 30 days.

We use the following third-party services: Supabase (database and authentication, EU region); Vercel (hosting, edge network); Resend (transactional email); PostHog (anonymised analytics); Anthropic Claude API (review moderation). Each service has its own privacy policy.
